Heh. I think when I first saw Star Trek III, I was at an age where all it took for Saavik to win me over was "ooh, girl Vulcan!" but over the years I've fallen in love with Robin Curtis' performance (Kirstie Alley not nearly so much) and the complexities of the character, most of which, sadly, got cut from the movies. The novels have done a wonderful job, though, of taking that never-quite-made-it-to-the-screen information and fleshing it out. The two I referenced for this fic are probably the best, although there's also a fabulous look at the Mirror Universe Saavik in Glass Empires.
Glad you enjoyed the story and thanks for the link! I will definitely post there. :-)
