Hmm. I've always been pretty convinced it was her father, but I haven't read The Pandora Principle in a while, so I may be wrong. I'll have to reread it, and fix the story if needed. :-)
the original timeline still exists and they go looking for Ambassador Spock and she's on the ship that figures out how to punch a message through to the new reality and finds out what happened to her husband and to Vulcan in the new timeline and she comes through to help him rebuild Vulcan and they have lots of babies and live happily ever after and go rescue the people kidnapped and sent to Hellguard and that includes infant!Saavik and ... yeah, that one's pretty self-indulgent.
*grin* Maybe, but that doesn't mean I haven't entertained the thought too.
